Senior Product Manager, FoodStorm

Instacart
$158,000 - $199,500Remote

About The Position

FoodStorm, Instacart’s order management platform for prepared foods and catering, powers seamless in-store operations and connects them to an exceptional online grocery experience. We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead FoodStorm’s in-store product strategy and deepen the connection between our retailer partners’ counters, kitchens, and digital storefronts. In this role, you will partner closely with a global R&D team of about 50 cross-functional teammates, including roughly 20 engineers, spanning Melbourne, the United States, and Canada. You’ll collaborate with design, data, operations, and go-to-market teams across Instacart, as well as directly with North American retailers, to deliver products that drive measurable adoption, revenue, and shopper satisfaction at scale. This is an opportunity to build at the speed of a scale-up with the reach of a market leader. If you thrive in fast-paced, highly collaborative environments and enjoy rolling up your sleeves to solve complex, real-world problems, we’d love to hear from you. The role is open to remote candidates in the US and Canada, with San Francisco as a preferred location for in-person collaboration.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of product management experience building and shipping SaaS or platform products end-to-end.
  • 3+ years working in retail technology, e-commerce fulfillment, order management, POS, or in-store operations.
  • Proven track record owning a multi-quarter roadmap and launching products that drive measurable business impact (e.g., adoption, revenue, NPS, or operational efficiency).
  • Hands-on experience defining requirements, writing PRDs, and leading agile rituals across engineering, design, data, and go-to-market teams.
  • Strong analytical skills, including proficiency with product analytics tools and comfort querying data (e.g., SQL or equivalent).
  • Experience managing API-based and third-party integrations in production environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication skills, with examples of driving alignment across distributed teams and senior leaders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% to retailer sites and Instacart offices across North America; ability to collaborate effectively across US and APAC time zones.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with prepared foods or catering solutions in grocery or food service environments.
  • Background integrating with enterprise retail systems (e.g., ERP, inventory, kitchen display systems, loyalty, payments).
  • Demonstrated success running pilots with enterprise customers and scaling features across 100+ locations.
  • Experience working with hardware-adjacent products or in-store devices and ensuring operational reliability at scale.
  • MBA or comparable experience in strategy, partnerships, or P&L ownership.

Responsibilities

  • Own the strategy, roadmap, and execution for FoodStorm’s in-store experiences, bridging prepared foods and catering operations with Instacart’s online grocery ecosystem.
  • Translate retailer and customer insights into clear problem statements, PRDs, and prioritized backlogs; drive delivery with an engineering team of 20+ using agile practices.
  • Lead cross-functional alignment with design, analytics, operations, and adjacent platform teams to ship high-quality features end-to-end, from discovery through launch and iteration.
  • Define success metrics, instrument products for analytics, run experiments, and use data to inform tradeoffs and rapidly improve business and customer outcomes.
  • Partner directly with North American retailers to pilot solutions in stores, gather feedback on the ground, and scale adoption across banners and locations.
  • Manage complex platform integrations (e.g., POS, payments, inventory, fulfillment) and ensure reliability, performance, privacy, and compliance in production.
