About The Position

This role is responsible for leading the strategy and execution of financial reporting and subledger systems, ensuring accurate, auditable, and compliant financial data flows across engineering and accounting platforms. The Senior Product Manager will own the end-to-end journey of financial data from operational systems to the general ledger/ERP, driving reconciliation, controls, and automation initiatives. This position requires strong cross-functional collaboration with Finance, Accounting, and Engineering teams to translate accounting policy and audit requirements into actionable product specifications. The ideal candidate combines practical accounting expertise with technical fluency, providing leadership in data quality, system integrations, and reporting accuracy. Success in this role enables scalable, reliable financial operations that support rapid product innovation and organizational growth. Requirements

  • 4+ years of product management experience owning financial platforms or data products, including roadmap ownership, APIs, data models, and cross-functional delivery
  • Practical accounting experience with hands-on responsibility for month-end close, reconciliations, and external audits; CPA preferred
  • Strong knowledge of financial systems, subledger to GL flows, journal-entry design, reconciliation, SOX controls, and audit processes
  • Technical fluency in data modeling, ETL/DBT, SQL, and API design with experience partnering with engineering and data teams
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional influencing skills; able to translate accounting requirements into technical specifications and present tradeoffs to senior leaders
  • Strong problem-solving, strategic thinking, and collaboration skills
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent practical experience
  • Willingness to work East Coast hours and occasionally travel as needed

Responsibilities

  • Own the financial reporting product roadmap, including subledgers, journal-entry flows, GL/ERP integrations, and reconciliation tools
  • Define and implement the Accounting ↔ Engineering interface, including accounting-event schemas, API contracts, and system migration strategies
  • Translate accounting policies, audit requirements, and SOX controls into technical specifications and engineering requirements
  • Lead reconciliation strategy and automation, including vendor evaluation, rule definition, and process improvements for high-volume accounts
  • Ensure data lineage, quality metrics, SLAs, monitoring, and remediation flows for critical financial reports and journal feeds
  • Drive product discovery, prioritization, and cross-functional programs with Finance, Accounting, and Engineering teams
  • Oversee governance and change management, including stakeholder training, go-to-production approvals, and operational documentation
