Capital OneMcLean, VA
3d$209,000 - $286,200

About The Position

Senior Product Manager, Cyber SRE The Mission We are shifting SRE from a reactive support organization to a forward-looking discipline. Our vision is Autonomous Reliability: a future state where reliability is engineered into every product through AI-driven self-healing, automated onboarding, and secure-by-default architectures. As a horizontal leader within Cyber Engineering, you will be the face of this transformation, embedding yourself within service areas to drive high-impact, product-focused reliability.

Requirements

  • Strong technical stakeholder relationships: You excel at working with engineering leaders. You know how to build a strong engagement model that integrates SREs into service areas, ensuring reliability is built-in, not bolted-on.
  • An Automation Evangelist: You are obsessed with reducing toil. You see a manual process and immediately think about how to build an autonomous agent to handle it.
  • A Strategic Thinker: You can translate a high-level executive strategy into actionable Key Results (KRs) and navigate the complexities of Build vs. Buy decisions.
  • A Cybersecurity Advocate: You understand that in our world, reliability and security are inseparable. You speak the language of vulnerabilities (SAST/SCA), compliance, and threat mitigation.
  • Product Management Excellence: 5+ years of experience in technical product management, with a proven track record of managing platforms or horizontal infrastructure as a product.
  • Cybersecurity Depth (5+ years): Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, including secure coding practices, vulnerability management, and security observability (SLOs/SLIs for security products).
  • SRE Mastery: Professional experience in the SRE discipline, with knowledge of OpenTelemetry (OTEL), incident response automation, and error budget management.
  • Collaborative Leadership: Demonstrated experience partnering with senior engineering leaders to drive cross-functional initiatives and cultural shifts.
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
  • At least 6 years experience in cybersecurity or information technology
  • At least 3 years of experience translating cybersecurity strategy and analysis into product requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience
  • 2+ years of experience in public cloud security
  • 3+ years of experience in Product Management
  • 1+ years of experience in regulated financial service organizations
  • Professional certifications (CISSP, AWS Security, AWS Solutions Architect)
  • 1+ years of experience delivering GenAI or Agentic AI solutions that automate DevOps tasks or infrastructure rightsizing.
  • 1+ years of experience with Serverless architecture, Feature Flags, and automated failover systems.
  • 1+ years of experience shifting an organization from a Support model to a Product or NoOps model.
  • Ability to contribute to architectural discussions regarding interoperability, common libraries, and poms.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the Strategic Roadmap: Execute the Product-Driven Reliability strategy, moving from operational support to a horizontal enabler of scale, speed, and autonomy within the Cyber organization.
  • Build stakeholder partnerships: Partner with engineering leaders across Cyber, Bank Tech, and Card LOBs. You will be the face of the team, embedding SRE practices into product builds rather than waiting for downstream deployments.
  • Productize Reliability: Treat reliability as a feature. You will lead the development of Golden Paths, reusable architectural artifacts, and automated onboarding workflows that reduce developer friction by 30%+
  • Lead AIOps Initiatives: Own the product lifecycle for AI-driven self-healing capabilities, including anomaly detection, incident prediction models (targeting 80%+ accuracy), and autonomous remediation workflows.
  • Enforce Secure by Design: Integrate security and resiliency into the Definition of Done. You will drive the adoption of distroless images, automated compliance scanning (99.9% target), and real-time security observability.
  • Prioritize & Influence: Navigate a horizontal landscape to prioritize high-value work, ensuring Cyber’s custom needs are balanced with contributions that make a broad organizational impact.
