Job Summary: As a Product Development Consultant in the Electric Power Division, your work ensures our customers get the most value from our products and services by working with them to identify potential improvements to existing products or new products. You will also support go-to-market initiatives, sales execution, and training as a subject matter expert in your assigned portfolio. Your knowledge will be critical to align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions.

Requirements

Customer Focus: Extensive experience and knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.
Effective Communications: Extensive experience and understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas.
Relationship Management: Extensive experience and knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
Products and Services: Working knowledge of major products and services and product and service groups; ability to apply knowledge of product and service appropriately to diverse situations.
Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Working knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

Responsibilities

Interacting with customers to develop a deep understanding of their needs and our positioning in the competitive landscape.
Evaluating processes to identify improvements in product development and design.
Provide input to maximize production efficiency and product performance.
Communicating technical specifications and instructions to ensure product quality and performance.
Tracking and managing the status of product issues.
Understanding the competitive landscape and how our products align with those of our competitors.
Providing product application expertise at point of sale, or by delivering various types of product training including applied technology, job efficiency, and safety to customers.
