About The Position

The Senior Product Analyst will play a key role in shaping the company’s product strategy, pricing, and competitive positioning across P&C insurance lines. In this role, you will support favorable business outcomes by analyzing complex issues and providing actionable recommendations for rating plans, underwriting rules, process enhancements, and other strategic initiatives. You will also serve as a bridge between the Product department and other functions, including Underwriting, Marketing, Finance, and Technology.

Requirements

  • Understanding of and experience with insurance products and operations, including underwriting/claims, pricing/rating concepts, insurance finance and risk selection methodologies. Commercial Auto experience desired but not required.
  • 5 or more years in product management, underwriting, claims, or other analytical role.
  • 5 or more years of experience with relational database tools and concepts. 
  • Proficiency with data extraction, manipulation, analysis, presentation and programming query tools such as SQL, Python, etc.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills and structured problem-solving ability developing and implementing new, creative and effective solutions to highly complex business issues.
  • Confidence in taking ownership of challenging business issues, experience managing multiple projects and making decisions with limited or incomplete data and seeing issues through to resolution.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to establish and build productive working relationships internally and externally, lead mentoring relationships (as needed), and negotiate.
  • Bachelors or higher level degree preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Commercial Auto experience desired but not required.
  • CPCU or other professional insurance designation(s) desired but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the management of P&C product performance, supporting profitable growth and achievement of business targets.
  • Conduct quantitative analyses to inform pricing, underwriting, and product strategies, leveraging predictive modeling concepts and other advanced techniques.
  • Identify trends, develop hypotheses, and proactively recommend solutions to business challenges.
  • Manage and support projects of moderate to high complexity, using data systems and analytical tools to diagnose issues, test solutions, and deliver insights to leadership.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure product strategies are aligned with business needs and market opportunities.
  • Monitor competitor actions, regulatory developments, and market trends in assigned states to identify risks and opportunities, and recommend strategic responses.
