About The Position

The Senior Procurement & Logistics Specialist is a critical Subject Matter Expert (SME) designed to bridge the gap between our Australian headquarters and our expanding US footprint. You are a foundational hire responsible for the management of the procurement and logistics function for US Operations. This is a "player-coach" role: initially, you will be an individual contributor during the US Center of Excellence (CoE) establishment phase, fulfilling day-to-day logistics and shipping needs. Simultaneously, you will lead the strategic onboarding of US-based suppliers to secure the supply chain for our 2026–2028 Global Manufacturing Transition.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in strategic procurement, low volume, high model mix sourcing, and supply chain management, preferably within a complex technology, electronics, or manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in strategic and operational logistics management.
  • Proven ability to lead complex commercial negotiations and manage contracts.
  • In-depth knowledge of inventory management principles (e.g., JIT, consignment, Kanban).
  • High proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and advanced competency in TCO modelling and financial analysis
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams (Engineering, Finance, Operations)
  • Security & compliance: candidate must be a US Citizen and meet all requirements to secure a Secret level clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certification in Procurement (e.g., CIPS, CSCP) is highly regarded.
  • Technical aptitude to read and understand technical drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all products routed through the Huntsville site are shipped to customers as per logistics and shipping procedures
  • Liaise with Procurement and Logistics department and external logistics consultants to ensure fit for purpose processes are implemented, sustained and improved to meet business and customer requirements
  • To manage the physical distribution of goods within the USA, maintain the Huntsville inventory, and formalize all USA logistics procedures into the AdNav Quality System.
  • CBP Compliance: Retain and organize all import documentation including Certificates of Origin, (product originated from AU Manf HUB) to ensure strict adherence to US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) requirements.
  • Stock Maintenance: Oversee storage handling at the Huntsville facility to prevent damage.
  • FIFO Discipline: Ensure strict adherence to First-In, First-Out (FIFO) principles, with high attention to shelf-life sensitivities and engineering revision levels.
  • Audit Readiness: Conduct regular cycle counts and lead annual/audit stocktake requirements to ensure 100% inventory transparency.
  • RMA Management: Facilitate the return of RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) products. Utilizing existing processes, coordinate the international return shipping of identified products back to the AU Manufacturing Hub.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with the US Supplier transition program team to identify, engage, assess and onboard US based suppliers to meet business and customer needs.
  • Supplier assessments: If required, visit potential suppliers (remote or onsite) to assess for capability and quality
  • Supplier Onboarding: On board US based suppliers after the completion of a cross-functional decision.
  • Supplier Management: ensure appropriate ongoing supplier performance management activities are completed
  • Material Procurement: once US suppliers have been established, ensure procurement activities are completed to meet manufacturing demand and supply plan.
  • Documentation Release: Working with Production Engineering Team to track changes to the BOM and ensure all updates are managed with the relevant supplier.
  • Best Value Sourcing: Lead complex sourcing activities globally to identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers to manage NDA’s, COO compliance, Supplier agreements, Tooling ownership contracts, and other commercial agreements with focus on who delivers the best Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), not just the lowest unit price for US suppliers.
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead high-stakes negotiation of pricing, payment terms, and supply agreements to mitigate risk and secure advantageous commercial terms for the business.High level understanding of financial systems concepts, principles and processes.
  • Supplier Risk Management: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate supply chain risks related to single sourcing, geopolitical instability, and component obsolescence.
  • Supply Continuity: Ensure uninterrupted material supply to the Manufacturing and Production teams, safeguarding against stock-outs and line-down situations.
  • Inventory Optimisation: Define, monitor, and optimise inventory parameters (safety stock, order frequency, lead times) to balance component availability with working capital efficiency.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate closely with Manufacturing & Supply Chain, Finance and Logistics to streamline the procure-to-pay process and ensure material flow aligns with production schedules.
  • Data Integrity: Ensure purchasing and inventory data integrity within the ERP/Equivalent system to facilitate accurate forecasting and data-driven decision-making.
  • Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strategic, productive relationships with key suppliers to foster mutual growth, drive performance improvement, and secure preferential terms.
  • Familiarity and compliance with AdNav Country of Origin policies & procedures and international quality standards e.g. ISO9001, ISO13485.
  • Performance Accountability: Establish clear key performance indicators (KPIs) for suppliers and hold them accountable for quality, on-time delivery (OTD), and adherence to contract terms.
