Senior Process Engineer Liquid Systems

This role will lead the design and execution of process systems for liquid products such as beverages, dairy, sauces, and other fluid-based consumables.You'll be responsible for managing the scope, schedule, and budget of your assigned systems or unit operations, while collaborating closely with clients, vendors, and internal teams to deliver high-quality, innovative solutions.This position can be based out of KC, St. Louis, or Dallas TX -with up to 50% travel.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering (ABET-accredited)
- 5+ years of experience in process engineering for liquid food or beverage systems, specifically in confectionary, pet food, fermentation, dairy, dressings and sauces.
- Strong understanding of sanitary design, CIP systems, and fluid handling equipment
- Excellent communication and project coordination skills
- Familiarity with industry codes and regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, USDA, 3-A)
Nice To Haves
- PE or EIT certification
- Experience with construction support (RFIs, submittals, punch lists)
- Hands-on experience with commissioning and troubleshooting liquid process systems
- Knowledge of automation and control systems for liquid processes
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of liquid processing systems for food and beverage manufacturing facilities.
- Translate client requirements into process design scope and deliverables.
- Manage and coordinate with internal teams, clients, vendors, and construction partners.
- Oversee technical deliverables such as P&IDs, mass and energy balances, equipment specifications, and process narratives.
- Support and lead activities such as:Vendor package management and technical bid evaluationsFactory Acceptance Testing (FAT)Risk assessments (HAZOP, HACCP)3D model reviews and coordinationCommissioning and startup support
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical development initiatives.
