About The Position

The Senior Process Development Chemist is responsible for managing the resolution and tracking of issues with instrumentation, work instructions, escalated samples and inter-lab samples at all POLARIS Laboratories, LLC locations. In addition, he/she will complete Research and Development team projects as assigned and present outcomes, proposals and new information to leadership.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of chemistry
  • Ability to conduct method development
  • Ability to conduct method improvement
  • Knowledge of care and maintenance of scientific instrumentation such as titrator, FTIR, GC viscometer, IC, HPLC, ICP, Particle Count
  • Degree in chemistry or related field of study with chemistry minor
  • 4 years’ experience in a laboratory setting
  • Ability to travel 20%

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred 3-5 years’ experience in training delivery
  • Preferred 2-4 year experience in training development

Responsibilities

  • Work together with the Science and Research team members and act as a team leader for this team.
  • Provide process training to lab staff.
  • Perform training audits & assist with development of training audit process when required.
  • Coach and mentor Process Development Chemists in the completion of JIRA tickets.
  • Manage and monitor completion of the JIRA tickets.
  • Work on R& D projects with minimal guidance from manager or senior level chemist.
  • Inter-lab sample prep and results review.
  • Review test method performance across all locations of POLARIS laboratories, LLC with an aim to improve processes and align all locations to perform methods to the same capabilities. Prepare presentations to management to demonstrate alignment.
  • Prepare presentations of data review or other information for management.
  • Mentor Process Development Chemists.
  • Lab support with instrument troubleshooting, maintenance and calibrations.
  • Work collaboratively with Laboratory Operations and Maintenance and Calibration departments to resolve issues.
  • Work collaboratively with the Quality department on audits.
  • Adherence and support of the POLARIS Employee Handbook inclusive of the Standards of Conduct.
  • Learn and support of the quality management system.
  • Other duties as assigned.
