Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Systems Engineer for a position located in Linthicum, MD to support the Tactical Fighters business unit. This position requires a secret clearance at the time of application, with the job offer contingent on the ability to obtain a SAP.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience, master's degree with 6 years of experience or Ph.D. with 4 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • U.S Citizenship is required.
  • A current / active DoD Secret Clearance is required
  • Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
  • 3 years of experience executing MATLAB scripts
  • Experience with Agile software development (PI Planning, 2-week sprint cycles, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience writing and running MATLAB scripts
  • Experience working on design and development of Electronic Warfare (EW) platforms
  • Experience with development of aircraft radar surveillance modes
  • Familiarity with Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) Radar platforms
  • Familiarity with AESA Radar Tracking algorithms and Tracking architecture
  • Active SAP Clearance

Responsibilities

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interface with hardware and software engineers in support of integration and development
  • Develop test scenarios and perform data analysis in MATLAB
  • Lead an Agile based scrum team, present progress to program management, and manage work backlog
  • Collaborate alongside IPT leads to develop systems engineering documentation and product development deliveries.
  • Control Account Management (CAM) duties to manage cost, schedule, and risk through system development.
  • Perform technical planning, verification and validation, and decomposition of customer requirements into technical and functional performance parameters.
  • Support lab and flight testing
