About The Position

Nightwing is seeking a highly strategic and execution-oriented Senior Principal of Corporate Development & Finance to support and scale our growth initiatives within the government contracting sector. This role sits at the intersection of M&A, strategic finance, and long-range planning, and will play a critical part in shaping the company’s expansion across federal, state, and defense markets. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in government contracting, strong financial acumen, and a proven ability to evaluate, and integrate complex transactions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or CFA preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or strategic finance
  • Advanced financial modeling and valuation skills
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Ability to obtain or maintain a U.S. security clearance (if required)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with defense, intelligence, or civilian federal agencies
  • Familiarity with FAR/DFARS regulations
  • Prior experience in a high-growth or private equity-backed environment
  • Integration leadership experience post-acquisition

Responsibilities

  • Support M&A activities including financial evaluation, due diligence, and integration
  • Partner with executive leadership to define strategies and market positioning
  • Build and oversee financial models to support M&A, financial reporting, and support strategic decisions
  • Lead long-range financial planning processes
  • Analyze financial performance and provide actionable insights to senior leadership
  • Work closely with legal, operations, HR, and program leadership during transaction execution and integration
  • Support post-merger integration efforts to ensure value realization
  • Present strategic recommendations to executive leadership
