About The Position

The Senior Principal Engineer – MYA Risk & Reliability leads and responsible for driving technical excellence, disciplined risk management, and reliable execution across Multi‑Year Agreement (MYA) systems and Systems Reliability. This role has broad enterprise impact, shaping strategy, governance, and decision‑making for complex, high‑risk engineering initiatives with long‑term business implications. The Senior Principal Engineer operates with strong ownership—anticipating risks, enabling informed decisions, and ensuring technical rigor—while working collaboratively across engineering, commercial, finance, and governance organizations. Success in this role requires deep technical credibility, systems thinking, and the ability to influence without authority. This role contributes to the overall strategy and manages complex issues within Customer Service Engineering’s Multi-Year Agreement (MYA) Systems and Reliability functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics.
  • At least 8 years of engineering experience , with demonstrated technical depth in Services engineering, engineering design, and reliability-related disciplines .
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership & Risk Ownership Ensure technical rigor in reliability and risk processes to deliver safe, high‑quality products.
  • Provide technical leadership in design reviews, design boards, and mission‑based task forces.
  • Serve as a recognized expert in reliability engineering and technical risk management.
  • Partner closely with Chief Consulting Engineers and the Chief Engineer’s Office to align technical decisions with business strategy.
  • MYA Systems, Governance & Compliance Own and steward the NLRE and Triggers processes, ensuring clarity, consistency, and compliance while enabling continuous improvement.
  • Interpret and enforce governance and substantiation requirements; arbitrate technical and compliance disputes as needed.
  • Support internal and external audits by clearly explaining both process requirements and technical intent.
  • Enterprise Risk Awareness & Decision Support Serve as an early‑warning signal for high-impact risks, trade‑offs, and MYA decision points.
  • Anticipate downstream technical, financial, and operational impacts of engineering decisions.
  • Program & Initiative Effectiveness Apply deep engineering design knowledge to identify hidden risk, scope, or reliability implications in initiatives.
  • Enable program success by asking the right technical questions and maintaining a systems‑level perspective.
  • Collaboration, Coaching & Continuous Improvement Foster open, transparent communication across engineering, finance, controllership, and commercial teams.
  • Mentor technical leaders and engineers, reinforcing disciplined execution and engineering judgment.
  • Promote a culture of learning, curiosity, and continuous improvement.
  • Recommend areas for technology advancement and reliability capability growth.
