About The Position

Interested in leading cutting edge Infrastructure Research and Development initiatives? Look no further! Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is pioneering new initiatives to build a new class of infrastructure and platform services from the ground up. You will lead one of these initiatives, and play a critical technical leadership role in shaping, designing, and delivering this next-generation system. This is a unique opportunity to work on a zero-to-one effort, influence foundational architecture, and set the engineering direction for a strategic new area within OCI. You will lead the design and development of software systems focused on building new AI infrastructure from the ground up and optimizing existing infrastructure. You will lead exploratory and pathfinding projects working with some of the best architects in the industry. This role involves defining high-level technical objectives, designing, establishing delivery milestones, and driving the execution of complex software projects. You will serve as the project's technical lead, coordinating the efforts of a small team of engineers, advising, and collaborating with both immediate and senior leadership to ensure alignment with long-term organizational goals and innovation strategies. You'll also mentor engineers at all levels, fostering a culture of engineering excellence and continuous learning. Your experience and leadership will help shape the team's practices around software craftsmanship, service ownership, and cloud-native design. This position requires deep technical expertise in distributed systems, Networking, AI infrastructure protocols like RDMA, RoCEv2, a strong act now and iterate mindset, and the ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments where you'll help bring structure and clarity to new initiatives.
