The Raytheon Hardware Engineering Organization leads the hardware design, development and production support of a wide breadth of air, land, sea, and space systems. The Hardware Engineering team strives to be the premier organization for mechanical design and development through our world class people and technology - creating trusted, innovative solutions to make the world a safer place. Hardware Engineering’s capabilities encompass a broad range of technical disciplines which include engineering, technical services, materials, processes, analysis, test, and documentation. Within the Hardware Engineering Organization, the Undersea & Electronics Systems (UES) Department leads the mechanical and electrical design, development, and integration of products, including but not limited to undersea sensors and analysis, naval platforms, shipboard/ground-based processing and power equipment, and launchers. The UES department is looking for a full-time Senior Principal Electrical Engineer with extensive experience in electrical design, build and test of acoustic sensors. This role will be on-site and located in Portsmouth, RI. What You Will Do At this grade level, you will be expected to work autonomously, have expert or mastery level knowledge within electrical engineering, and exercise strategic vision to influence the functional and organizational strategies of the UES department beyond assigned program work. The UES department provides a strong technical learning environment across a set of projects and program areas. UES electrical engineers are provided with the opportunity for direct access to subject matter experts, fostering accelerated technical growth. Occasional CONUS travel to customer sites or suppliers is generally required. International and longer duration travel assignments are available but optional
