About The Position

GreenWaste is seeking a Senior Pricing Analyst to support and enhance the Company’s pricing strategy across multiple facilities and lines of business, including C&D inbound materials, hauling services, and landscape materials sales. This analytical role is responsible for developing and maintaining pricing models, evaluating cost and market data, and ensuring that pricing decisions align with the Company’s financial and operational objectives. This person will work closely with operations, sales, finance, and executive leadership to provide data‑driven insights that strengthen profitability, improve market competitiveness, and support sustainable long‑term growth.

Requirements

  • Excellent written, verbal, and executive‑presentation communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex information.
  • Experience with BI tools (Power BI preferred, given your organization’s known use), ERP systems, and/or pricing software and SQL proficiency or advanced analytics experience preferred
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical capabilities, financial acumen, and the ability to model scenarios and pricing strategies.
  • Skilled at exercising sound judgment under pressure, managing multiple priorities, and meeting tight deadlines.

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with employees and customers at all levels, adapting to a wide range of personalities and working styles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Data Analytics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in pricing, financial analysis, or similar analytical role.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, complex formulas) and data analysis tools.
  • Ability to interpret operational data and translate insights into clear pricing recommendations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in waste management, recycling, organics/landscape materials, hauling services, or another asset‑heavy operational industry preferred, including knowledge of California solid waste regulations, franchise agreements, and local market dynamics.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain cost based and market-based pricing models for: Inbound C&D materials (tipping fees, special waste streams, contamination surcharges). Hauling services (residential, commercial, roll off, franchise, and non franchise hauling rates). Landscape materials (mulch, compost, soil blends, recycled products).
  • Assist with the analysis of operational cost drivers in order to develop cost‑to‑serve models (labor, equipment, disposal, overhead, fuel, maintenance, etc.) to ensure pricing aligns with current and forecasted cost structures.
  • Conduct competitive benchmarking using available market intelligence and customer feedback to ensure pricing remains competitive and sustainable.
  • Support annual rate adjustment filings, franchise rate reviews, CPI passthroughs, and municipal reports.
  • Analyze competitor pricing and positioning to inform pricing strategy.
  • Build dashboards and reports to track pricing performance, elasticity, volume trends, and margin impact.
  • Identify anomalies, underpriced accounts, leakage, or discounting trends that negatively affect revenue.
  • Partner with IT/Data teams to strengthen data pipelines needed for pricing accuracy (ETL/ELT workflows, CRM/ERP integrations, etc.).
  • Work with Sales on quoting, proposals, and contract renewals to ensure pricing consistency and profitability.
  • Support Operations with modeling for route optimization, disposal cost impacts, and equipment ROI.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service to develop pricing for new service requests or escalations.
  • Partner with Finance leadership (CFO, Controller) to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
  • Lead pricing workstreams for acquisitions, new facility launches, and market expansion.
  • Assist in rate case development for regulated jurisdictions.
  • Contribute to bid responses, including pricing schedules, cost justifications, and scenario modeling.
  • Drive continuous improvement of pricing processes, tools, and governance.
