About The Position

Pre-Sales Engineer / Solution Architect Design and develop solutions incorporating Grass Valley products, ranging from single components (such as video switchers, camera chains, or SDI routers) to more complex architectures, including Broadcast IP infrastructures, cloud-based solutions, and software solutions built on GV AMPP. The role supports projects across EMEA, with occasional involvement in other regions. Work closely with customers, system integrators, and internal teams to align on solution design and technical requirements. Identify, address, or escalate any risks or issues that could impact the proposed solution. Travel to customer sites as required to support successful project delivery and conduct demonstrations (approximately 40% travel / 60% office-based work). Produce and maintain solution-related documentation, including system diagrams and detailed solution descriptions. Prepare proposal documentation and review it with customers and the Grass Valley Delivery team to ensure smooth project execution. Attend Grass Valley exhibitions and industry events as required.

Requirements

  • Willingness and ability to travel at short notice to meet customer and project requirements.
  • Strong understanding of broadcast television principles is essential; hands-on experience with Grass Valley hardware or software is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in Windows operating systems and standard business applications.
  • Working knowledge of Linux operating systems.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft workstation and server environments.
  • Good knowledge of LAN/WAN networking principles.
  • Excellent customer-facing and communication skills.
  • Previous experience working in TV production facilities, playout centers, system integrators, a Grass Valley competitor, or a similar broadcast-related environment is expected.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with JavaScript and HTML is desirable.
  • Exposure to alternative operating systems is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with commonly used broadcast equipment such as video and audio routers, VTRs, and vision switchers/mixers is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of playout solutions is an advantage.
