Senior Power Plant Mechanic The Senior Power Plant Mechanic in the Power Plant is experienced in all phases of steam generation and maintenance of boilers, chillers, and auxiliary equipment and assists the leadership (Shop Lead, Supervisor, Manager, and Director) with daily operations, coordination of work, quality and service, achievement of goals and objectives, customer satisfaction, and in meeting regulatory requirements. This individual serves as the technical resource for other team members through participation in quality control and improvement activities, staff development activities, and provides daily support to team members. The Senior Power Plant Mechanic also helps leadership with facilitating and monitoring the work process of designated teams, including internal construction and maintenance projects. Candidate must be experienced in all phases of steam generation, maintenance of boilers, chillers, and auxiliary equipment. Responsibilities include monitoring power plant equipment; reading and interpreting control circuits, schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and specifications to determine proper operation. These individual tests, maintains, and repairs power plant equipment; monitors contractor's work to ensure quality and code compliance. This individual will assist Shop Lead in leading the Central Utility Plant and serve as Shop Lead in their absence. This position is based in the Central Utility Plant and assists with the AC Shop, Pipe Shop, and Electric Shop operations and support as needed/assigned. Training to support other shops will be provided. This role is considered a departmental position and not Central Utility Plant specific. Mission Essential Personnel Required
