About The Position

EMC Mechanical Services is searching for a Senior Plumbing Estimator to join our team! The Senior Plumbing Estimator is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the department estimators. This position’s primary role is to assist the estimators in everything from drawing specifications to the completion of each trade’s portion of a bid. Once the details for all needed trades have been combined, the Senior Estimator is responsible for delivering the final product to the Operations Director of Construction and the President of EMC. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in the mechanical contracting industry.
  • Complete understanding of all mechanical and plumbing systems.
  • Strong knowledge of building, mechanical, and plumbing codes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to adapt to various estimating software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fluent English verbal and written skills.
  • Must have a valid Virginia driver’s license.
  • Must have positive points on state driving record.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age unless company approval is granted.
  • Must not have had a DUI, DWI, or reckless driving conviction in the last five years.
  • All driving records are run as part of our pre-employment process and reviewed at the discretion of the Safety Team.
  • Must be able to crawl, kneel, squat, and climb.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, unassisted.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Complete mechanical piping estimates for projects.
  • Set up and maintain records of all vendor and sub quotes for each project on the department’s shared drive.
  • Keep Bid Tracker up to date and monitor upcoming bid dates.
  • Prep scope letters for Director’s approval.
  • Review all information and quotes submitted by the Estimators before combining trades.
  • Send out bids and communicate with customer on any questions or concerns.
  • Conduct site visits to ensure project is accurate.
