About The Position

The Senior Playout Operator is responsible for the real-time execution, monitoring, and control of program streams across broadcast and/or streaming platforms. This role ensures accurate playout of scheduled content, rapid response to live events and breaking news, and the integrity of all program data and playlists. As a senior team member, this position also supports operational efficiency by coordinating asset readiness, improving workflows, and contributing to system enhancements.

Requirements

4+ years of experience in playout operations, master control, or broadcast/streaming environments.
Strong understanding of playout automation systems, scheduling tools, and media asset workflows.
Proven ability to manage live and time-sensitive programming with accuracy and composure.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in high-pressure environments.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Continuously monitor program streams to ensure accurate and seamless playout of scheduled content.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve on-air issues in real time to maintain broadcast quality.
Execute playlist transitions, overrides, and emergency procedures as needed.
Adjust and update content playlists in real time to reflect schedule changes, breaking news, or operational requirements.
Ensure playlists are accurate, complete, and aligned with programming logs and timing requirements.
Provide immediate operational support for breaking news and live programming.
Quickly implement schedule changes and coordinate with editorial and control room teams during live events.
Ensure consistency of data across playout, scheduling, and asset management systems.
Track and coordinate incoming media assets, ensuring all required content is available, approved, and ready for playout.
Collaborate with content, production, and media management teams to resolve missing or incomplete assets.
