About The Position

Responsible for purchasing supplies from vendors. Evaluates vendor quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers and their performance level.

Requirements

May require a bachelor’s degree
1–3 years of experience in purchasing
Demonstrates knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

Responsible for plant purchasing of raw materials, office suppliers, and production supplies, maintenance and tooling parts.
Assists with financial reporting as well as other clerical duties
Coordinates with Plant and scheduling the needed materials for production of product and with other departments concerning their purchasing needs.
Making sure the required materials and services are ordered and delivered as required.
Issues purchase orders for plant purchases and verifies accuracy of documents (requisitions, purchase orders, receivers, etc.).
Coordinates the flow of orders to suppliers and sub-contractors molders
Coordinates the flow of railcars in and out of the plant with the railroad, resin suppliers and corporate resin buyer.
Verifies language and specifications of purchase requests.
Consult catalogs and interviews suppliers to obtain prices and specifications.
Complies records of items purchased or transferred between departments, prices, deliveries and inventories.
Confers with suppliers concerning performance.
Tracks spending of approved capital projects (PARS).
Data input and summary reports from production and maintenance database.
Tracks credit card charges, reconciles statements and ensures accounting procedures are followed.
Comply with and follow all elements of Buckhorn Inc.’s Environmental Management System.
Maintain applicable ISO system procedures.
