About The Position

This role is responsible for leveraging planning technologies to create and manage multiple production schedules, including the daily maintenance of a dynamic 6-week master production plan. The position focuses on developing planning strategies that align with customer demand, production line capacities, and raw material needs. Additional duties may be assigned by the supervisor. This position requires flexibility to work some weekends and holidays as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ years of experience preferred; general animal science knowledge, and/or Consumer Products/Logistics/ Case Ready Supply Chain Management is preferred.
  • Requires standard computer skills, generating and maintaining Excel spreadsheets, and creating DB2 queries. Knowledge of Production Planning and/or Tyson's internal systems such as OP/PA are considered a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills through various levels required. Ability to train other Team members in the work unit is critical for this position. informal presentations to groups on work-related topics.
  • Strong organization, strategic thinking, communication skills, and strong analytical skills are a must. Must work well in a fast-paced environment and be able to meet deadlines in a reasonable time frame with a positive/upbeat attitude; ability to collaborate with others and drive for results in a timely manner.
  • This position does not have direct reports.
  • 1-5 domestic trips per year

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Ordering and managing inventory of direct materials from external suppliers on a daily basis.
  • Monitoring customer shipments from both source and warehouse locations, utilizing freight optimization and pricing tools to ensure efficiency.
  • Balancing ingredient inventories, verifying ingredient deliveries, and addressing any date-related issues for raw materials and finished goods.
  • Investigating and resolving production variances to maintain order fill rates and meet discount sale objectives.
  • Collaborating closely with plant leadership to address and resolve operational challenges.
