About The Position

Senior Planner Analyst Instrumentation, Electrical and Controls - Water and Wastewater Treatment The Plant Work Management team is hiring a Senior Instrumentation and Controls Planner for our team. This opportunity will allow you to utilize your maintenance experience coupled with your aptitude for routine and shutdown planning, scheduling, and coordinating repair activities associated with the water and wastewater treatment assets of our organization. You will be responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and analyzing maintenance activities for various equipment and Instrumentation, Electrical, and Controls craft personnel. Your maintenance knowledge and analytical skills will be instrumental in maintaining the operational readiness condition of critical assets. Your thoughtful planning and dedication to excellence will ensure our water treatment systems are maintained efficiently with the proper amount of analysis and schedule/planning rigor. This will enable Colorado Springs Utilities to provide safe, reliable, and cost-effective water and wastewater services to our customer-owners. You will also implement and develop work management best practices for maintenance planning at Utilities’ plant environments. This position will be located at the Las Vegas Resource Recovery Facility; however, it is expected to support nine treatment plants within the Plant Work Management Group.

Requirements

  • At the Planner Analyst Senior classification, candidates typically offer progressive experience in planning, scheduling, and analyzing construction and maintenance projects.
  • Ideally, you will possess a minimum of 3 years of journey-level experience in a related craft, such as an Electrician or Electrical Technician, Instrumentation/Controls Tech, Plant or Pump Mechanic, or Plant Operator.
  • Experience in construction planning or estimating processes is preferred.
  • Experience with Asset Management Fundamentals is essential.
  • Work experience in a Water or Wastewater treatment facility or related industry field is also preferred.
  • Experience performing data input and analytical analysis using various software applications, such as Power BI and Maximo
  • Knowledge of engineering, construction, and operations work management measurements, principles, and techniques
  • Strong attention to detail and project management skills demonstrated in your ability to track, review, and analyze schedules throughout all phases of the project
  • Experience in estimating electrical and mechanical cost projections, including material, labor, and contracted services
  • Experience with electrical attributes related to the repair of motors, switchgear, control modules, lighting, analyzers, transmitters, and cabling
  • Proficient at scheduling, planning, forecasting, monitoring, acquiring resources, project/program monitoring, analyzing, reporting, communicating, and developing weekly job schedules and digital work packets
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work cross-functionally with various stakeholders
  • Excellent organizational skills in planning electrical and mechanical maintenance projects and repair
  • Collecting data and analyzing results
  • Colorado Springs Utilities CMMS (MAXIMO) system
  • Microsoft Project, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Scheduling, planning, forecasting, and analyzing weekly job schedules
  • Problem-solving skills and excellent communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Review, prepare, plan, schedule, and analyze routine and shutdown work orders
  • Develop craft-specific job plans, material ordering, working in MAXIMO to allocate workload, and scheduling maintenance activities for Instrumentation, Electrical, and Controls personnel at all Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants
  • Develop rolling weekly and daily maintenance schedules for corrective maintenance, PMs, projects, and new installations of equipment involving all process areas and control systems across 9 Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants
  • Responsible for overseeing Work Management Best Practices Implementation for Treatment Plant assets
  • Create project work breakdown structure and collaborate with stakeholders to monitor, analyze, and report on projects in all phases of Work Management
  • Create, maintain, and track service records associated with asset management, asset creation, LID, and PMs & JPs in Maximo
  • Provide technical direction to a small group of professional, craft, and/or support personnel and act as mentor and trainer to Planner Analysts
  • Attend meetings and participate in presentations to the management team concerning Shutdown Planning, Asset Integration, and Maintenance Planning Strategies
  • Assist in developing Integrated Asset Management Strategies and implementation processes and standards for all treatment facilities, personnel, assets, and infrastructure
