About The Position

The Senior Philanthropy Manager is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive fundraising plan for Novant Health Foundation, focusing on major gift initiatives and building a major gift pipeline. This role involves cultivating relationships with donors and prospects capable of contributing $25,000 or more, managing a portfolio of at least 75 prospects, and generating over a million dollars in sustained contributions over three years. The Manager will also serve as a liaison to specific medical centers and participate in team leadership activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Minimum five years of major gifts and planned giving experience required.
  • Minimum five years of healthcare fundraising experience required.
  • Demonstrated experience in soliciting and closing major gifts of $25,000 or more.
  • Planned giving expertise is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Ability to understand the needs and interests of leadership and major gift donors.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within an organization.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills that create credibility and trust.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with donors and team members over multiple years.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional appearance and confidence in working with donors and team members.
  • Self-starter with excellent time management skills.
  • Experience using Salesforce or similar development database programs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and execution of the comprehensive fundraising plan for Novant Health Foundation.
  • Support major gift initiatives, including campaigns, grateful patient, and planned giving.
  • Build and manage the major gift pipeline through active development of annual and major donors.
  • Cultivate donors and prospects with an annual capacity greater than $25,000.
  • Solicit gifts of $25,000 or greater for assigned programs.
  • Qualify prospective donors for the pipeline to achieve and sustain major philanthropic support.
  • Execute individual strategies for a portfolio of a minimum of 75 prospects and donors.
  • Manage specific Foundation programs and projects as needed.
  • Serve as a Foundation liaison to a specific medical center within the market.
  • Participate in team quarterly meetings and assist in training new team members.
