About The Position

The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Phantom Works team is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer located in Berkeley, MO. Position Overview: We are looking for Manufacturing Engineers, with expertise in airplane subsystems, production readiness and composite fabrication. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the efficient production of our world-class aerospace products, including advanced platforms for our Fighter Jet programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 9+ years of related work experience with a Bachelors OR an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
  • This position is expected to be 100% onsite.
  • The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment.
  • An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
  • This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.
  • This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements.
  • To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required.
  • “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • B.S. or higher in Aerospace, Civil or Mechanical Engineering
  • Level 5: 14+ years of related work experience with a Bachelors OR an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
  • Composite & Metallic Fabrication, Assembly & Integration experience
  • Experience reviewing engineering models and notes
  • Experience establishing a new production build process
  • Experience supporting Production Operations
  • Experience creating an interchangeable assembly
  • Experience with LEAN
  • Experience supporting defense and/or aerospace customers (Internal & External)
  • Experience as a Lead for junior engineers
  • Experience with 3D model-based instructions
  • Experience with any of the following: Microsoft Project, Team Center, NX, IVT, CREO, MESci, VisMockup, ProModel, FlexSim, 3D Printed Parts

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement manufacturing processes for airplane structure and subsystems.
  • Ensure production readiness by identifying and mitigating risks, optimizing workflows, and enhancing operational efficiency.
  • Support operations by streamlining processes, improving quality, and ensuring timely delivery of products to our customers.
  • Utilize data analysis and engineering principles to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide input on manufacturability and assembly considerations.
