About The Position

The Senior Permit Specialist manages in-house and external permitting projects. This position is responsible for collaborating with the Sales Rep (for in-house permits) on their projects to understand the scope of the permitting work needed. They will assist with determining information needed to apply for a permit in specific jurisdictions and gather all information needed from the customer. The Permit Specialist will submit for the permit, manage the process through approval and coordinate all inspections and follow up.

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service, communication and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with a high sense of urgency and minimal supervision in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Deep understanding of building codes and jurisdictional requirements
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required
  • 3-5 years prior permit process related experience
  • Prior experience with AutoCAD

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with salespeople, project manager, project coordinator and customer to get all information needed to submit for a permit
  • Maintain files for each jurisdiction with process and documentation requirements and contacts for future permit needs
  • Provide customer with weekly updates on permit statuses
  • Update internal project management system daily to reflect permit statuses
  • Research jurisdictional requirements and manage any registration needs
  • Support the Director of Project Operations in mentoring junior staff
