Job Summary: Responsible for managing the complexity of Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE), including developing criteria for OPPE/FPPE, developing quality measures, setting up education and communication with physician chiefs and chairs. Managing the activities related to OPPE, FPPE structures and processes. Sr. Quality Data Analyst is responsible for working with multiple complex databases to manage and produce reports and dashboards for Virtua/OPPE/FPPE. This position will also have considerable responsibilities for communicating the status Of OPPE/FPPE to regulatory agencies such as The Joint Commission. This position is responsible for the analysis, validation, and reporting of data that is maintained within the Department of Quality, Safety and Performance Improvement. This position acts as a lead in researching data integrity issues, assisting in the implementation of new systems, and facilitating the optimization of current systems. As part of a team, this role also functions in a backup capacity for the maintenance and upkeep of various clinical data systems.

Requirements

  • Required Experience: Minimum of 7 years in healthcare.
  • Advanced PC skills in Microsoft software, including expert Excel and Access; advanced PC skills and proficiency in reporting software packages such as Business Objects and Crystal.
  • Knowledge of data bases and query reporting.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Required Education: BS in a Business, Healthcare or Analytic discipline.
  • Training / Certification / Licensure: Certification in Business Intelligence tools.

Responsibilities

  • Applies knowledge of ongoing professional practice evaluation (OPPE), focused professional practice evaluation (FPPE), and essential structures and processes
  • Develops processes for managing OPPE information across its cycle, from capture to archive or destruction.
  • Engages clinical leadership in the process by providing consultation on concerns for review, follow up, and action plans.
  • Manages performance measurement review process and criteria development for OPPE/ FPPE
  • Develops quality metrics for each subsection of OPPE reports.
  • Mines complex data from disparate systems to incorporate into OPPE process.
  • Derives information from relevant resources (i.e., electronic health records, registries, comparative and benchmark data, and published research) to demonstrate current practice and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Communicates performance and process improvement priorities and results using narrative and visual tools appropriate to the audience.
  • System Admin/ Primary Report Writer for NUANCE, QNET, & CRIMSON Continuum of Care
  • Responsible for Virtua’s timely Core Measure and eCQM Reporting to CMS and TJC.
  • Serves as Virtua’s Hospital Quality Reporting (IP, OP, Psych) Subject Matter Expert.
  • Develops and conducts data validation and reconciliation to ensure data integrity, accuracy and completeness for operational purposes.
