Position Summary We are a GIPS-compliant institutional value money manager overseeing over $80 billion in 250+ discretionary accounts across 45+ composites. Our investment process is grounded in fundamental research, and we are committed to transparency, discipline, and long-term performance for our clients. The Senior Performance Analyst is responsible for oversight of the daily calculations, analysis, and reporting of investment performance across all discretionary accounts and composites. This individual will serve as the firm’s subject matter expert on performance measurement methodology, GIPS compliance, security valuations, composite management, attribution analysis, and client reporting. The role requires close collaboration with portfolio management, client service, compliance, and operations teams, as well as coordination with the firm’s external GIPS verification provider.

Requirements

  • 7 to 10 years of progressive experience in investment performance measurement and analysis at an institutional asset management firm.
  • Deep working knowledge of the GIPS standards, including composite construction, verification processes, and compliant presentation requirements.
  • Strong command of the Modified Dietz return calculation methodology and its application to daily performance measurement.
  • Hands-on experience with FactSet’s performance, attribution, and reporting platforms.
  • Experience with Indata (iPM) or a comparable portfolio accounting and performance system.
  • Proficiency in Excel at an advanced level, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data validation techniques.
  • Experience with an enterprise data management tool for managing pricing and performance exceptions.
  • Curiosity and comfort with AI tools and ability to communicate workflows to identify efficiencies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.

Nice To Haves

  • CIPM designation (Certified Investment Performance Measurement) or progress toward completion.
  • CFA charter holder or CFA candidate.
  • Experience supporting or managing a GIPS verification engagement from start to finish.
  • Familiarity with multi-asset class performance measurement across equity, fixed income, and balanced strategies.
  • Experience with SQL, Python, or other tools used to automate data extraction and reporting workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily performance data for account-level and composite-level returns using the Modified Dietz methodology across 250+ discretionary accounts and 45+ composites.
  • Investigate and resolve return discrepancies, daily pricing exceptions, and cash flow timing issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and administer the firm’s performance systems, including FactSet and Indata (iPM), ensuring integrity of data feeds, portfolio structures, benchmarks, and classification hierarchies.
  • Prepare monthly performance review of all composites and analyze dispersion by composite.
  • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports for internal review and client distribution.
  • Ensure timely and accurate assignment of new accounts to appropriate composites based on investment mandate and strategy guidelines, and inclusion/exclusion policies.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all GIPS-related matters, including composite construction, maintenance, and ongoing compliance monitoring.
  • Manage the annual GIPS verification process, coordinating with the external verifier to provide required data, documentation, and supporting schedules.
  • Prepare and update annual GIPS compliant presentations and disclosures for all GIPS Reports.
  • Oversee the process for tracking GIPS Report distribution to prospects.
  • Maintain composite and pooled fund definitions.
  • Stay current with GIPS standards updates and assess the impact of any changes on the firm’s policies and procedures.
  • Approve daily security valuations utilizing EDM tool.
  • Approve exception reports daily to ensure accurate accounting records.
  • Contribute to the firm’s Pricing Committee.
  • Conduct multi-period performance attribution at the account and composite level to explain sources of return relative to benchmarks.
  • Competency with sector, security-level, and factor-based attribution analysis.
  • Develop and maintain attribution reporting frameworks within FactSet, ensuring consistency across strategies and client deliverables.
  • Partner with marketing to interpret attribution results and articulate performance drivers for client communications.
  • Prepare bespoke performance reports based on client specifications.
  • Collaborate with the client service team to respond to ad hoc performance inquiries, RFP questionnaires, and consultant database submissions.
  • Develop and refine report templates and presentation materials to ensure clear, consistent communication of performance results.
  • Support the preparation of materials for client review meetings and prospect presentations.
