About The Position

The Senior Payroll Specialist is responsible for payroll processes for the company’s bi-weekly and semi-monthly multi-site and multi-state payroll for 1,000+ associates. This position will perform a wide variety of payroll activities, including maintaining payroll records with accuracy, reviewing and auditing payroll records, researching, and continuing education. Requirements

  • Comprehensive knowledge of all applicable payroll processes, procedures, and state and federal laws.
  • Experience with a third party payroll software; experience with ADP Workforce Now is preferred, but not required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Must be able to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and demands
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with teammates and various levels of management.
  • Ability to work with confidential employee information.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Associate’s degree in a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience with full cycle payroll for a minimum of 300+ associates.
  • Any combination of education, training, or experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position will be accepted in place of the education and/or experience requirements listed for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure quality and accuracy of employee transactions through the complete payroll cycle.
  • Perform internal verification and auditing to ensure quality for downstream payroll, HR, and accounting departments.
  • Perform weekly internal audit reviews of payroll functions for data and compliance accuracy.
  • Assist in researching state reporting requirements and wage and hour laws in each state OrePac provides employment in to ensure compliance.
  • Process full cycle payroll operations with a high level of accuracy, including compensation, benefits, new hires, and terminations.
  • Research payroll issues/discrepancies and process necessary corrections.
  • Run custom reports that will involve strong knowledge of relational databases, MS Excel, and complex formulas.
  • Assist with compliance audits, ensuring accurate and timely deliverables.
  • Assist with trainings and facilitate meetings as requested by management. Work collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
