About The Position

In this role, you will play a critical role for the company and will work alongside other professionals within the team and other departments. You will be responsible for administering all aspects of the payroll system, as well as providing administrative support to the Accounting and Human Resources Departments. Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent
  • 4 – 6 years’ experience processing multi-state payroll at a volume of 500+ employees
  • Strong understanding of payroll and payroll tax law
  • Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to solving and preventing problems
  • Computer knowledge with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Able to maintain confidential information
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 15 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Paychex a plus

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process full-cycle bi-weekly, multi-state payroll utilizing Paychex
  • Run/audit reports and timesheets to identify discrepancies. Send time discrepancy notices and enter PTO requests and corrections
  • Collect overtime requests and enter/calculate weekly overtime accruals
  • Update employee attendance calendars
  • Provide superior customer service ensuring timely response to high volume of email requests
  • Update Prepaid schedule and record payroll entries
  • Review Payroll General Ledger Journal Entries—Generate Accruals
  • Review Payroll Taxes (create schedule if there is an outstanding balance)
  • Review and setup garnishment deductions
  • Reconcile PTO Balance Sheet Account Schedule
  • Record Draws, Accruals reversals, PTO
  • Record Manual Checks
  • Regularly attends training sessions and conferences to stay current with new developments in the payroll system software used by the Corporation
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state and local payroll, wage and hour laws and best practices
  • Works closely with Human Resources to maintain accurate payroll processing
  • Create employee insurance deductions
  • Prepare Prepaid insurance schedule for month end
  • Record insurance expense (Health, Dental, Vision, Life)
