Job Summary The Senior Payroll Analyst is a technical lead responsible for the accuracy, compliance, and optimization of payroll functions for Bay Cove, CASPAR, and Growthways. Working alongside a peer Senior Analyst, this position ensures 100% data integrity through cross-auditing and shared management of the Ceridian Dayforce system.

Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years of progressive payroll experience; 3+ years in a senior or lead capacity is preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Payroll & Time systems and Google Workspace or equivalent office productivity suite.
  • Credentials: Must pass an acceptable CORI (criminal record assessment).
  • Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a "paired" environment, maintaining consistent standards and professional confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Full-Cycle Execution: Manage the full-cycle weekly payroll process, including imports, new hire data, and finalized pay for terminations.
  • Analytical Auditing: Perform deep-dive audits of "Salary True Ups," blended overtime rates, and retroactive adjustments to ensure precise pay.
  • Complex Benefits: Validate weekly VOYA contribution files and coordinate ACH transfers for involuntarily terminated employees.
  • Compliance Administration: Oversee garnishment documentation, tax withholding accuracy for status changes, and recurring cell phone stipends.
  • Audit Leadership: Lead annual procedures, including auditing payroll calendars, verifying W-2 accuracy, and preparing documentation for external auditors.
  • Tax Integrity: Monitor Ceridian tax fallouts and coordinate with the appropriate departments for new state and unemployment registrations.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review payroll tax returns, workers' compensation 52-week summaries, and vacation accrual reports.
  • General Ledger Alignment: Ensure the accuracy of all data included in payroll functions, including GL mapping and information required by Finance.
  • Technical Development: Maintain manual and computer-based payroll systems (Ceridian Dayforce) to ensure peak operational efficiency.
  • HRIS/Finance Integration: Partner with HRIS to configure new deduction/benefit codes and update pay policies; provide high-level support for payroll functions across all entities.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to automate manual workflows and enhance reporting capabilities for the Accounting team.
