About The Position

This position is responsible for directing and coordination the activities of the counter sales representatives to generate a maximum volume of parts and service sales and servicing as a primary source of information for customers and internal personnel on Caterpillar and related parts

Requirements

  • High school graduate with five years of related parts sales experience.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate via the telephone and in person

Nice To Haves

  • Mechanical experience would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises counter sales activities when required
  • Promotes aggressive and suggestive selling by means of product knowledge, personal selling skills, over the counter contact, telemarketing, and direct mail.
  • Ensures counter sales reps. are proficient in the area of suggestive selling of related items
  • Resolves errors with responsible staff, taking corrective action to prevent similar future mistakes
  • Provides input for each Parts Sales Representative’s annual performance review
  • Participates in the hiring and training or new employees to ensure proper and adequate manning of the Department
  • Conducts periodic training sessions for all counter personnel, properly covering material assigned for presentation
  • Resolves customer complaints in regard to improper handling of customer account or delays in ordering.
  • Makes necessary policy decisions for most problems with customers
  • Provides advice and assistance on special customer problems
  • Changes bulletin boards and display monthly in coordination with the promotional plans for the month
  • Suggests physical improvements to the Parts Manager for approval prior to implementation
  • Maintains clean and orderly counter and display areas
