About The Position

The Senior Paralegal, Labor and Employment will support the Labor & Employment team by maintaining litigation reports and files, drafting correspondence, and optimizing workflows. This role involves assisting with employment litigation matters, including issuing litigation hold notices, compiling discovery, and corresponding with external counsel. The paralegal will also assist with pre-dispute and administrative charges, participate in Company investigations, and draft responses to correspondence from attorneys, federal and state agencies, and other regulatory authorities. Key responsibilities include being the primary point of contact for employee information requests and subpoenas, researching specific legal issues, assisting in the benefit plan claims procedure process, and performing administrative duties such as maintaining files and scheduling team meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree in Paralegal Studies
  • 5-10+ years of paralegal or comparable experience
  • Strong professionalism and skill in a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing multiple priorities while consistently meeting aggressive and time-sensitive deadlines
  • Must be a proactive and forward-thinking and demonstrate initiative
  • Must be able to work in a team-oriented and fun but fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Paralegal Certificate
  • Previous experience with e-billing and matter management systems
  • Previous experience overseeing a litigation docket and knowledge of ERISA
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint

Responsibilities

  • Support the Labor & Employment team by maintaining litigation reports and files, drafting correspondence, and optimizing workflows
  • Assist with employment litigation matters by issuing litigation hold notices, compiling and organizing discovery, and corresponding with external counsel
  • Assist with pre-dispute and administrative charges by participating in Company investigations, and drafting responses to correspondence from attorneys, federal and state agencies, and other regulatory authorities
  • Primary point of contact for employee information requests and subpoenas
  • Researching specific legal issues and topics
  • Assist in the benefit plan claims procedure process, including reviewing and revising claim letters
  • Responsible for certain administrative duties, e.g., maintaining files, scheduling team meetings
