Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related equivalent education
  • Knowledge of common software programs such as Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to complete internal and external reports
  • Strong cost- benefit analysis, decision making and organizational skills.
  • Great customer service skills
  • Detail oriented and flexible in working with various service plan structures.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2+ years of experience adjusting liability claims preferred, including litigation management
  • Familiarity with handling of first party claims as well as liability claims
  • Multi-jurisdictional tort law and overall federal law experience a plus
  • Experience in reporting key exposures to excess carriers and reinsurers a plus
  • Insurance designations not mandatory but a plus

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough investigations of liability claims, securing details from insureds, claimants, and witnesses.
  • Review and interpret insurance policies to determine coverage and draft initiative-taking coverage letters.
  • Maintain accurate claim documentation, timely diary management, and meet monthly closing goals.
  • Set and adjust reserves, authorize payments, and manage litigation in collaboration with defense counsel.
  • Identify and execute subrogation opportunities for optimal recovery outcomes.
  • Communicate professionally and promptly with clients, claimants, and internal stakeholders.
  • Attend trials, mediations, and client claim reviews as needed.
  • Achieve performance metrics and scorecard goals outlined by department leadership.
  • Collaborate across departments and work alongside a team of professionals to support initiatives and foster a culture of teamwork.
  • Analyze data to solve problems and contribute to organizational success.
  • Demonstrates urgency, ownership, and commitment to work.
  • Supports team PTO requests and initiatives.
  • Understands organizational goals and contributes to overall success.
  • Analyzes data to solve problems and supports implementation of initiatives.
  • Promotes collaboration and teamwork across departments.
