We are seeking an experienced Senior Originator (Physical Gas) to lead and execute physical natural gas asset‑based transactions that advance our desk‑driven commercial strategies. In this key front‑office role, you will work closely with our Trading team to identify high‑value opportunities, structure deals, and drive commercial growth across the North American gas markets. You will set the commercial framework and best‑practice standards for the Origination function while also playing a pivotal role in building, developing, and managing a high‑performing Origination team. This position is ideal for a commercially minded energy professional with strong market insight, strategic thinking, and a track record of delivering profitable transactions. This role will be based out of our New York office. Given the nature of the role there will be an element of travel required and we are open to considering applications from people wishing to work remotely in the US. Salary range for this position: $250,000 - $300,000/Year. Actual base salary may vary based several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant experience, business needs and market demands. This role may also be eligible for bonus compensation and employee benefits. #LI-CET

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years Physical Gas origination experience in within the US
  • Deep understanding of Gas and Power markets and price drivers including the broader energy complex (i.e. Oil, LNG, Carbon, FX etc)
  • Expertise in Eastern US natural gas transportation and storage infrastructure
  • Understanding of the risk management tools including swaps, options and futures
  • Deep understanding of asset transactions and valuations including deal structuring
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to fundamentally and technically analyse markets
  • Exceptional communication and relationship building skills
  • Strong analytic capabilities
  • Ability to work and collaborate in fast paced, high stress environment.

Responsibilities

  • Originate and negotiate structured purchase and sales agreements with bilateral counterparties around physical assets and production
  • Identify asset opportunities and collaborate with the commercial team to value and execute profitable transactions for the business
  • Work closely with legal, risk, and credit to secure necessary approvals for all transactions
  • Engage and maintain strong relationships with producer community, as well as pipeline and storage counterparties
  • Monitor market developments and competitor activities, provide insights and strategic recommendations
  • Work closely with global LNG desk and propose ideas to restructure existing LNG transactions in the US to extract additional revenue stream
  • Adhere to all administrative and compliance standards and procedures as directed by the company.
