About The Position

We are seeking an Optical Inspection Technician to be a part of the Quality team based in Charlotte. Optical inspection is integral to manufacturing, not only for finished goods but also to monitor and control the upstream processes of extrusion and lamination.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Manufacturing experience required.
  • Experience writing training documents and operating procedures using Microsoft WORD required.
  • Experience analyzing data using pivot tables and charts using Microsoft EXCEL or equivalent required.
  • Detail oriented in creating or verifying procedures to ensure no misinterpretation of same.
  • Ability to work individually.
  • Strong Writing skills.
  • Must be able and willing to travel up to 10% for domestically and abroad for training and visiting other company locations.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated computer skills in configuration or programming or Associates of Applied Science in engineering or engineering technology, Electronics or IT preferred.
  • Experience as an electrician or electronic technician with proven troubleshooting skills preferred.
  • Experience using multimeters.
  • Experience reading schematics.
  • Visual Studio programming knowledge preferred.
  • 3+ years with optical inspection systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Developing quality tests procedures, SOPs and SOCs, and troubleshooting guides for FSM Optical Systems
  • Keep all FSM Department quality tests, SOPs & SOCs, troubleshooting guides updated
  • Conduct training of floor optical support technicians, including new support techs and new/changed procedures to current support techs
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting beyond the troubleshooting guide as necessary, which may require after hours support
  • Maintain optical inspection systems through routine maintenance, calibration, and alignment checks, and detection testing
  • Create optical inspection settings for development film. Data analysis will be required.
  • Collaborate with Process engineers on process monitoring improvement activities
  • Periodic review of the optical inspection records database to ensure proper data entry & make corrections as necessary
  • Perform quality investigations using archived optical inspection data. Interpret results and provide information for causes, and recommendations for solutions
