About The Position

Senior Ops Associate, Check Operations - Essential Onsite The Payment Exceptions team in Enterprise Payments is seeking an experienced, highly motivated process manager with excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in process management, with experience facilitating risk, complaints & project initiatives. This individual needs to enjoy collaborating, creating well-managed processes, and driving towards solutions of identified risks. The individual will work closely with various external vendors and internal stakeholder groups throughout the organization. Interested candidates should have a drive to improve processes and mitigate risk, with superior problem-solving skills, strong business judgment and effective written and oral communication skills.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
  • At least 3 years of call center operations or back office experience
  • At least 1 year of coaching, mentoring, or people leadership experience
  • At least 1 year of project or process management experience
  • At least 1 year of experience using Google Suite or Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience
  • At least 4 years of Financial Services experience
  • At least 4 years of operations experience in production
  • At least 3 years of people leadership experience
  • At least 3 years of project or process management experience
  • At least 2 years of risk management experience
  • Six Sigma, Lean, BPM or PMP Certification

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate well-managed process skills
  • Gather and analyze process data while identifying trends and prioritizing key focal points
  • Working knowledge of checks and payments, practices, processes and technologies
  • Focus on continuous self development
  • Build a highly engaged and inclusive culture across operational boundaries
  • Build relationships and effectively influence Business Partners (e.g., Enterprise Payments Risk Office, Process Management and other horizontal stakeholders within Capital One Bank) to define and drive process improvements, and partner effectively across other lines of business
  • Collaborate to deliver on requirements of industry/regulation standards to critical business processes, including adherence to guidelines and standards that are compliant to Capital One Bank’s governance framework
  • Facilitate meetings with stakeholders within assigned processes, risk partners and external stakeholders
  • Prior experience in a regulated banking environment
  • Effective negotiation and influencing skills, including strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to translate enterprise strategies to business specific initiatives
