About The Position

The Senior Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing all aspects of the distribution and warehousing operations within the facility. This key leadership position requires a highly experienced professional with a deep understanding of supply chain management, logistics, and warehouse operations.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of production machinery and job-related service delivery equipment and processes are required
  • Experience with process flow design and implementation
  • Experience with proper documentation for process flows, building layouts, projects management, procurement ROI to obtain executive approval
  • Strong excellent verbal and written communications skills, proven ability to work and communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to conduct presentations, facilitate meetings, training
  • Possess excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet timely deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with a positive attitude to promote a great working environment
  • Must be flexible with work schedule when needed
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems
  • Generally, requires minimum of seven (7+) years’ experience in warehouse operations, manufacturing, or distribution environment.
  • Minimum three (5) years of supervisory experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field preferred or a combination of education and equivalent work experience.
  • Able to identify, troubleshoot and resolve problems quickly using sound judgment, poise and diplomacy.
  • Ability to use judgment and reasoning skills, and determine when to escalate issues, as required, in a timely manner.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb stairs, use hands and fingers, bend, stoop and reach with hands and arms. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to perform essential duties throughout the workday. The employee may occasionally lift or move materials and products up to 50 pounds. Proper lifting techniques required.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives to enhance the overall efficiency, productivity, and profitability of the distribution and warehousing operations. Collaborate with senior management to align operational goals with the company's overall objectives.
  • Customer Liaison Collaborate with other internal departments, such as sales, marketing, and finance to share customer insights and contribute to the improvement of products and services. Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers by being their primary point of contact. Establish trust and credibility with clients, understanding their needs and expectations. Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a timely and professional manner. Act as an advocate for the customer within the company, ensuring that their issues are resolved promptly and to their satisfaction.
  • Facilities Maintenance Work with security vender to develop, implement and safeguard warehouse operations to enforce safety and security protocols Oversees maintenance and repairs with vendors, reviewing quotes/proposals, to complete time sensitive projects
  • Process Optimization Analyze existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement, automation, and cost-saving measures. Design and implement streamlined processes to enhance the flow of goods from receipt to shipping, minimizing processing times and ensuring optimal utilization of resources. Continuous management of storage devices per customer needs to ensure maximum efficiency in the picking and put away processes.
  • Inventory Management Oversee inventory control procedures, ensuring accurate and timely tracking of stock levels, reconciling discrepancies, and minimizing shrinkage. Develop inventory strategies to optimize stock levels while meeting customer demand.
  • Team Leadership Manage and lead a team of managers, supervisors, warehouse staff, and other operational personnel. Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to foster a high-performance culture, motivating employees to achieve operational excellence.
  • Compliance and Safety Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies. Work collaboratively with HR to Implement and maintain safety programs to minimize accidents and create a safe work environment for all staff.
  • Vendor and Supplier Management Collaborate with procurement teams to establish strong relationships with vendors and suppliers. Collaborate with finance to negotiate contracts and terms to ensure cost-effective procurement of goods and services.
  • Performance Monitoring Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the performance of the distribution and warehousing operations. Implement corrective actions as needed to meet or exceed performance targets. Communicate and plan coverage for leadership absences.
  • Warehouse Optimization Collaborate with solutions to stay informed of emerging technologies and implement relevant tools, software, and systems to optimize warehouse management, order processing, and inventory tracking.
  • Budget Management Responsible for budget preparation and adherence. Monitor expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and maintain financial discipline in the operations department.
  • Continuous Improvement Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging employees to provide feedback, suggest innovative solutions, and participate in process improvement initiatives.
