About The Position

CACI’s Enterprise IT (EIT) Sector is seeking a Senior Operations Manager in support of an upcoming Air Force Modernization program at Luke AFB. In the Operations Manager role, you will coordinate all facets of on-site execution in support of the operations and maintenance of the Base Area Network (BAN). The Network Operations Manager plans, directs, and supervises the daily operations of a team responsible for the availability, security, and performance of base unclassified and classified network. This position ensures compliance with DoD regulations, manages critical incident response, and provides leadership for technical staff maintaining network infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 7+ years of related work experience (High School diploma or associates degree plus 10+ years of experience performing as a Manager in DoD supporting large, complex networks may be considered in lieu of bachelor’s degree)
  • Direct experience managing Air Force Base Area Networks
  • DoD 8570 IAT II Baseline Certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or CCNA-SEC); CCNP or CCDP or equivalent
  • Must hold active Secret security clearance
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

  • Manages staff to ensure network availability - assigning tasks and on-call 24x7 after hours support.
  • Interacts with Communications Squadron leadership for direction and reporting.
  • Oversee the operations, maintenance and troubleshooting of routers, switches, wireless access points, and cryptographic equipment.
  • Responsible for actively monitoring network performance using tools such as SolarWinds.
  • Ensure all network operations adhere to DoD cybersecurity policies (e.g., NIST, FISMA, RMF, STIG compliance).
  • Actively manage vulnerability patching and compliance audits.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for critical network outages, directing rapid restoration of services and managing root cause analysis (RCA).
  • Coordinate routine and emergency network changes with stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate network topologies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and asset inventories.
  • Provides input; prepares, and reviews deliverables and project documentation.
  • Submits daily reports and other documentation as requested.
  • Assist the Program Manager with site planning, resource allocation, and managing the procurement of network hardware and software.
