JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of the Huntsville Upfit Facility located in Huntsville, Alabama. This role focuses on ensuring efficient and effective processes to meet the demands of all operation activity at the site including inbound logistics, planning, warehousing, production, quality acceptance, and outbound processes. The Senior Operations Manager will demonstrate leadership by working collaboratively with cross-functional business unit leaders and teams to achieve site goals and objectives. Success in this role demands strong leadership, accountability, lean operational thinking, and the ability to foster collaboration. Excellent communication skills and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred with 7+ years relevant experience
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in operations management, preferably in manufacturing or upfit environments if non-degreed.
  • Proven track record of leading large teams and managing complex operations.
  • Strong knowledge of lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. Visa sponsorship will not be provided.
  • To qualify for this position, former employees must be eligible for rehire, and current employees must be in good standing.

Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership: Manage day-to-day operations across inbound, planning, warehousing, production, quality acceptance, and outbound shipping. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards, including delivery and cost.
  • Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with business objectives. Monitor KPIs and drive performance improvements using lean principles.
  • Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team. Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with business unit leaders and support functions to achieve site goals. Facilitate effective communication between operations and other departments.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Champion lean methodologies and operational excellence initiatives.
