This role is a key, hands-on position with responsibilities spanning multiple workstreams focused on financial analysis, business partnering, reporting and general ad-hoc support. This position reports to the Director of Global Manufacturing Finance with a dotted line to the Trumbull Operations FP&A Manager. This individual will closely partner with Demand Planning, Plant Directors, and Quality to provide critical financial insights into factory performance, standardize business processes, streamline reporting, and identify quality trends to enhance business decision-making. As this role requires a broad understanding of global manufacturing it requires strong financial acumen along with a robust business sense, ability to think critically, and effective communication skills. The Senior Operations FP&A Analyst will be responsible for supporting typical finance rhythms including month-end close, quarterly financial planning, annual budgeting, and strategy. Additionally, this individual will be a key contributor in operating cadences utilized to enhance business decision-making and execute strategic direction such as demand planning, site reviews, KPI tracking, capital expense, and productivity. Lastly, this individual will be responsible to partner with Quality leaders to develop & track key financial metrics and provide value-added insights to improve performance.

Requirements

  • Experience within a manufacturing environment and a strong understanding of standard cost is required
  • Proactive individual with an aptitude to learn who strives for continuous improvement
  • Strong acumen and experience within an ERP system (Navision, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar)
  • Expertise with a Financial Consolidation system (HFM, Adaptive Planning or similar) is essential
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Teams skills (pivot tables, lookups, sumifs, graphs/charts, etc)
  • Capable of tracing GL transactions and working with large data sets to pull together analysis
  • Ability to analyze results, summarize underlying drivers, and provide clear and succinct interpretation of results to management.
  • Strong attention to detail; quality conscious and self-motivated to identify discrepancies and provide solutions
  • Direct, hands-on experience creating, tracking and controlling actual, forecast and budget metrics
  • Ability to work under pressure, adhering to multiple deadlines
  • Willingness to be hands-on and take an active role with your business partners
  • Broad technical accounting expertise, including good working knowledge of US GAAP
  • Ability to participate in multi-cultural, global operating environment working with multiple levels of the organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Minimum 6 years FP&A experience within manufacturing operations.
  • B.S. Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • Related experience within accounting function is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Factory & Quality teams, Director of Global Manufacturing Finance and VP of Operations with insightful financial analysis to drive site performance and execute strategic direction
  • Annual standards development, review, and update for assigned site(s)
  • Analyze variances to standards, identify root cause and support identification of remediation actions.
  • Generate monthly analysis for actuals versus latest forecast, budget and prior year for MTD, QTD and YTD positions as required
  • Review and investigate monthly actuals and provide corrective journals
  • Prepare and compile the annual operating plan and periodic forecasts for assigned site(s)
  • Work cross functionally with commercial, operations management and demand planning to understand global impact of build plan updates & provide analysis to support decision-making
  • Streamline operating system reviews to enable better processing & reporting of results
  • Create models and analysis of financial and operational metrics to evaluate factory performance
  • Serve as the finance business partner to the Quality group to develop related KPI's within operations, track performance, and improve decision-making
  • Maintain weekly and monthly reporting packages to support the site finance and operations management
  • Establish & maintain department level monthly reporting for US sites
  • Assist with consolidation of global results
  • Support management ad hoc projects and analysis
  • Is an integrated member of the CSI Global Operations FP&A team and the local site management teams
