About The Position

Since its founding in 2017, Prometheum has leveraged its deep expertise in securities law, blockchain and trading to create a compliant ecosystem for digital asset securities that enables all investors to seamlessly invest in digital assets securities. Prometheum has relied on its strong and diverse team to build the tools to service digital asset securities. To date, Prometheum has built multiple broker-dealers traversing novel areas and a large technology stack (intersecting trading, blockchain, compliance, etc.). Requirements

  • FINRA Series 99 (Series 27 a plus as the role may incorporate more advanced supervisory duties over time)
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or STEM field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced understanding of Broker-Dealer back office functions and associated regulatory requirements.
  • 3-7 years applicable experience in the area of Securities Operations, such as:
  • Clearance and/or Settlement functions,
  • Preparing or reviewing operational reporting (e.g. stock record,15c3-3 excess/deficit and allocation, suspense, cash reconciliations), and identifying and resolving breaks.
  • Preparation or review of client account reporting, such as monthly statements, trade confirms, or tax reporting
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Office applications, or Google equivalent.
  • Experience organizing and maintaining business records

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Shadow Suite is a plus
  • Experience and/or in-depth understanding of Digital Assets a plus

Responsibilities

  • The Senior Associate will primarily be responsible for Clearance, Settlement and Custody processes related to Client or Firm transactions in digital asset securities, including supervision of back office operations functions. This position reports to the Chief Operations Officer.
  • Review and reconcile open trade related receivables and payables (cash and asset); Prepare a daily settlement schedule with required actions supporting T+0 or T+1 settlement across multiple digital asset exchanges; Direct or initiate associated settlement actions via internal Firm systems, and ensure completed activity is posted accurately to the Firm’s books and records.
  • Review and document Reporting and Reconciliation deliverables (received from Service Providers) covering Custody Operations, Purchase and Sales, Settlement, Corporate Actions, Suspense Activity, etc; Signoff on the Operations Daily Checklist, which is prepared by Operations Staff (or prepare the checklist for Supervisory review when needed).
  • Monitor and analyze balance or position differences; proactively drive resolution efforts including required communications with internal and external contacts.
  • Evaluate trade or settlement exceptions, complex shareholder issues, and track recurring trends for management review.
  • When applicable, communicate Reorg and Dividend event details (includes event specifics and allocations where needed). Ensure that allocations are accurate and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Prepare periodic reviews of Client Reporting related functions, e.g. Monthly Customer Statements, Trade Confirmations, Tax Information reporting, including preparing (or signing off on) process and control checklists designed to ensure accuracy and overall compliance.
  • Develop and produce periodic Internal Management Reporting covering Operational Risk Management (including identified Incidents, settlement exceptions, breaks, etc. with analysis and observations)
  • Maintain or contribute to the development of, and ensure timely performance of, operating controls. Review and/or draft operational desktop procedures and policies.
  • With a mindset toward continuous improvement, proactively review existing operational processes, identify automation or enhancement opportunities, and propose development actions to the COO.
  • This position will materially contribute to product and project implementation initiatives, driving the future growth of the organization; Leverage knowledge of securities products and industry best practices to:
  • Assist in the identification of business requirements in driving operational efficiencies, mitigating risk/errors, leveraging technology, implementing industry best practices, monitoring contractual risk, and enhancing the client experience.
  • Provide insight into operational infrastructure, vendor integration, and governance requirements with a target to implement consistent, compliant operational models.
