About The Position

As a Threat and Functional Analyst SME, you will directly support the Joint Staff J8 and the Joint Integrated Air and Missile Defense Organization (JIAMDO). You will help develop threat informed joint requirements that assess Combatant Command Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) gaps and deliver capabilities to the Warfighter. This position collaborates with the Joint Staff, Combatant Commands, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Services, the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), Cost Assessment and Program Evaluation (CAPE), and FFRDCs. Responsibilities include: MEANINGFUL WORK AND IMPACT: Development of adversary threat scenarios and fire plans to support Joint Regional IAMD capability assessments that integrate intelligence reporting with SME judgment and technical/operational analysis. Analyzing existing and emerging foreign conventional weapons across air, maritime, terrestrial, and space domains, including ballistic missiles, cruise missiles (standard, hypersonic), hypersonic glide vehicles, and orbital strike systems. Conducting technical assessments of foreign weapon system capabilities, performance, signatures, employment concepts, R&D activities, timelines, and configurations. Facilitating technical exchanges with IC partners to refine understanding and modeling of adversary air and missile threats and identify information gaps to develop targeted intelligence collection requirements through standard IC tasking processes. Supporting JIAMDO in developing, assessing, and prioritizing IAMD capability needs. Coordinating across IAMD stakeholders including Combatant Commands, OSW, Joint Staff, Services, Agencies, and the Intelligence Community. Leading special access studies and analyses related to IAMD and adversary threat systems. Preparing and delivering high‑level written products — reports, briefings, and executive summaries — for DOW civilian and military senior leaders. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a related field
  • 15+ years of relevant experience
  • Minimum 5 years conducting modeling and simulation analysis
  • Active TS with SCI and SAP eligibility
  • Deep knowledge of Joint employment concepts, operational requirements, and doctrine for defending against enemy aircraft, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles.
