The LAUSD is currently recruiting qualified individuals for Senior Office Technician positions to fill various vacancies throughout the District. Individuals selected for this position will perform variety of clerical and/or support duties at schools and offices. Under general supervision, a Senior Office Technician performs a variety of moderately to highly complex clerical duties requiring a working knowledge of specialized subject matter and specialized clerical functions and exercises more independent judgment and initiative as compared to an Office Technician.

Requirements

  • Graduation from High School or evidence of equivalent educational proficiency.
  • One year of experience in performing clerical work that included using a computer keyboard and record keeping responsibilities.
  • Some positions require a valid California Driver License and use of an automobile.
  • All employees are subject to fingerprinting and a review of conviction records.
  • Appointment to a position in the School Police Department, Early Education Centers, and the Certificated/Classified Employee Processing Unit is subject to additional fingerprinting, a more extensive review of conviction records, and/or a background investigation.

Responsibilities

  • Composing, preparing, and editing a variety of routine letters, memos, and forms, typically using computer software.
  • Compiling, interpreting, and coding data from various sources; entering data into a computer database utilizing computer systems and programs for functions such as procurement, finance, student attendance, and personnel; and preparing related reports.
  • Initiating and maintaining liaison with others to provide and/or request information and responding to employee/public inquiries by telephone and in person.
  • Researching, compiling, and maintaining information and data for statistical and/or financial reports; checking and tabulating statistical data; and reviewing incoming and outgoing data for accuracy, completeness, and quality.
  • Checking forms and records for completeness, consistency, and accuracy.
