Overview Omega Technical Services is seeking a highly motivated Senior Nuclear Operations Professional to support ongoing operations in Oak Ridge, TN. This position plays a vital role in advancing critical mission objectives in a highly regulated, technically demanding environment. Requirements

  • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a drug and breath alcohol test, along with a Motor Vehicle Record check.
  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Security Clearance.
  • Minimum of 20 years of experience in operations, maintenance, and/or facility management of U.S. nonreactor nuclear facilities, hot cell operations, and/or radiological protection operations.
  • Demonstrated operational knowledge applicable to nuclear safety basis development and implementation.
  • Strong understanding of facility operations, conduct of operations, and radiological controls in nuclear environments.
  • Proven ability to interface effectively with engineering, nuclear safety, and regulatory organizations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering discipline
  • Completion of DOE or site-specific nuclear operations qualification programs

Nice To Haves

  • Possession of an active DOE/DoD clearance within the past two (2) years is preferred.
  • Previous DOE/NNSA work experience.
  • Experience supporting DOE installations.
  • Experience supporting safety basis documentation development or review.
  • Prior participation in readiness assessments, audits, or regulatory reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Provide senior operational insight to support nuclear and radiological analyses used in safety basis documentation for nonreactor nuclear facilities.
  • Support and review the preparation, update, and maintenance of Documented Safety Analyses (DSAs), hazard analyses, and accident analyses in accordance with DOE Standard 3009-2014 .
  • Ensure operational practices, maintenance activities, and facility configurations are accurately represented in safety basis documents.
  • Support safety basis change evaluations and technical assessments, including operational impacts to credited controls and assumptions.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary engineering reviews, operations readiness reviews, and safety basis working groups.
  • Provide operational subject matter expertise for hot cell operations, radiological protection activities, and nuclear material handling.
  • Support internal and external reviews, audits, and regulatory interactions involving U.S. Department of Energy facilities.
  • Mentor and guide junior nuclear operations and technical staff on DOE nuclear safety and operational expectations.
