About The Position

SRP seeks a Nuclear Development Analyst to provide financial, strategic, and analytical support for advanced nuclear development initiatives. This role is critical to establishing advanced nuclear as an option for long-term strategic resource needs, ensuring that capital and O&M budgets are well-planned, cost studies are accurate, and strategic insights inform decision-making. The position requires strong budgeting and reporting skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to support records management, market analysis, and technology monitoring. The Analyst will work closely with SRP’s matrixed teams and external partners to deliver high-quality reports and briefing materials for executive leadership, the Board, and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Occasional travel will be necessary for meetings, training, and conferences.
  • For a senior level, a minimum of five years of related experience plus a bachelor's degree is required. (If no degree, nine years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience totaling nine years.)
  • 5–8 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, strategic planning or equivalent combination of education and related experience; experience in energy or infrastructure projects preferred.
  • Proficiency in energy industry economics, budgeting tools and reporting platforms.
  • Demonstrated success in developing executive-level reports and presentations.
  • Strong records management and compliance knowledge.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • A bachelor’s degree related to the assignment from an accredited institution is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage capital and O&M budgets for nuclear development projects, ensuring accuracy and alignment with SRP’s financial planning processes.
  • Prepare detailed reports and briefing materials for executive leadership, Board members, and external stakeholders.
  • Design and implement a records management system to ensure compliance, accessibility, and traceability of project documentation.
  • Conduct strategic market and business studies, including analysis of advanced nuclear technologies and their commercial maturity.
  • Support cost studies and establish use cases for technology options in collaboration with other SRP departments.
  • Monitor industry developments and vendor progress, providing insights on technology readiness and potential impacts on SRP’s strategy.
  • Stay abreast of legislative and regulatory developments at the state, federal and international levels that impact the nuclear industry.
  • Collaborate with other departments and partners to analyze proposed policies, regulations, and legislation to assess their potential implication to Arizona’s nuclear sector and provide recommendations for advocacy and compliance, including drafting and coordinating of official comment letter.
  • Participate in industry conferences and forums, representing SRP and gathering intelligence on emerging trends.
  • Collaborate with matrixed teams (finance, transmission, water, land, environmental, regulatory, and others) to integrate multi-disciplinary perspectives and considerations into project planning and decision-making.
  • Develop communication materials that translate complex financial and technical information into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.
