About The Position

The position supports overall compliance through the execution of compliance control testing programs, procedure and training reviews, and other line of business monitoring designed to evaluate the effectiveness of line of business practices in meeting respective regulatory compliance. Maintains current knowledge of applicable state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to compliance and mortgage lending. Consults on design and implementation of preventative controls to lessen the risk of non-compliance and legal exposure to the Company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of regulatory compliance and/or risk management, and/or audit experience with a strong focus on mortgage risks and controls and risk-based auditing techniques.
  • Understanding of mortgage origination compliance risk management practices and methodologies, including compliance risk assessment and compliance risk and control assessments.
  • Practical working knowledge of mortgage originations compliance and operations including the related rules and regulations of the financial services industry.
  • Practical working knowledge of the components of an effective CMS program.
  • Demonstrated skill in effectively communicating (verbal and written) risk assessment results to a diverse audience; ability to work with all levels of management with a focus on collaboration and relationship management.
  • Experience with data analysis tools and techniques including advanced concepts of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and/or other analytical software. Encompass experience is a huge plus!

Responsibilities

  • Complete periodic targeted reviews/testing and validate quality control testing of transactions, processes, and controls. This process includes selecting appropriate samples, tracking timely delivery and maintenance of review papers, monitoring testing status, drafting final management reports, and updating all applicable documentation as applicable to each test.
  • Must be knowledgeable about all compliance requirements and upcoming changes to maintain efficiency in TRID, ECOA, HMDA, FCRA, and other regulations.
  • Document test results and reporting metrics in GRC Tool and/or central repository.
  • Assist with GRC Tool design, data entry, and testing.
  • Responsible for the management of effective review, challenge, and documentation of Policy and Procedure reviews.
  • Assist with Documentation of State Risk and Controls.
  • Provide support to all areas of the Mortgage Compliance program.
  • Complete any other job-related duties as assigned by management.
