BASIC FUNCTION: With direction from the Creative Director, Lead Generalist, show supervisors, create accurate digital models from the supplied reference material and/or concept artwork. Liaise with CG Supervisor on a daily basis for work allocation and feedback. MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: TECHNICAL Work closely with the Creative Director and Lead Generalist to establish the modelling pipeline for the show Create accurate digital assets from the supplied reference material and/or concept artwork. Apply and adjust UVs, working closely with texture artists to ensure UVs are positioned and scaled efficiently. Give direction and technical guidance to the modelling team to maintain the required standard of work. Provide constructive feedback to the modelling team to enable them to move forward with their work. Work with animators and riggers to resolve technical issues and optimise assets for animation and liaise with Lighting TDs to ensure assets are optimised for ADMINISTRATION Provide technical and personnel feedback to Producers, VFX Supervisor and CG Supervisor to aid scheduling and asset allocation. Provide the Creative Director and Producers with progress reports on an “as needed” Ensure paperwork is accurately filled out to enable the production accountant/producer to accurately predict profitability/completion of the project. Work with the Producer and Supervisors to estimate time scales and prioritise work SKILLS REQUIRED: Thorough understanding of the modelling process and the ability to both interpret designs and accurately match photographic reference material Excellent sculpting ability in Strong understanding of anatomy and Excellent polygon and subdivision surface modelling skills and the ability to apply and manage UV’s . Maya preferred. Previous experience creating photorealistic organic and hard surface digital models Good understanding of the visual effects pipeline from modelling through animation, texturing, and rendering Good understanding of the Unreal Engine Ability to work well in a team and solve asset specific issues independently Experience leading and training SKILLS DESIRED: (But not essential) Basic texturing skills Understanding of rigging techniques PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES: Excellent written and verbal communication skills Organised and methodical Proactive with the ability to work on your own initiative Ability to motivate yourself and your colleagues in a highly pressurised environment What can we offer?
