About The Position

At Raytheon, the foundation of everything we do is rooted in our values and a higher calling – to help our nation and allies defend freedoms and deter aggression. We bring the strength of more than 100 years of experience and renowned engineering expertise to meet the needs of today’s mission and stay ahead of tomorrow’s threat. Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world. Raytheon’s Operations and Mission Analysis Department , within Engineering Technology’s Integrated Solutions Modeling & Architecture (ISMA) Directorate, is chartered to define, architect, analyze and implement complex system-of-system solutions to multi-domain operational challenges, supporting all mission areas at Raytheon. Our department is currently hiring for a Senior Modeling Analysis & Simulation Operations Engineer to develop, analyze, and grade flexible integration solutions crossing all product areas (sensors, effectors, command and control, logistics, and operations), develop tools and methods to evaluate campaign, mission, and system level analysis and visualizations based on customer requirements. This is an onsite role located in El Segundo, CA.

  • Experience with radar (RF), electro optical (EO), and/or infrared (IR) sensing systems.
  • Experience with scripting languages Python, MATLAB and/or Perl
  • Experience with AFSIM
  • Military Operations Analysis, wargaming and/or Modeling & Simulation experience in the defense industry
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.

  • Responsible for the development and integration of variable-fidelity computer models and simulations that effectively capture system and system of systems effects in complex threat environments. These models will generate virtual and/or analytical solutions to identify technology gaps, demonstrate the operational benefits of new mission concepts (e.g., Manned-Unmanned Teaming) in complex operational scenarios, develop requirements, test systems, and train operators.
  • Perform evaluation of end-to-end system needs to discover system interfaces and data connectivity requirements across the kill-chain (e.g., ensuring sensors can “talk to” shooters)
  • Modeling of system and mission kill chains (e.g., intercepting a threatening ballistic missile) with tools such as Government, Commercial, and Raytheon simulations (e.g. AFSIM, STK)

Benefits

  • Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
