Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a Senior Mine Engineer to join our Fourmile Projects Team. The successful candidate will be part of a team of mining engineers, operations personnel, geologists, geotechnical engineers, hydrogeologists and other technical specialists. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mine Engineering and 1-3 years of experience, or a related field with equivalent experience.
  • Underground mine scheduling and design required
  • Technical communication and presentation skills required
  • Mining or heavy mineral industry experience required
  • Ability to operate efficiently in MS Office applications required, Deswik software suite, Xeras and VentSim preferred
  • Strong communication and team fostering skills required

Nice To Haves

  • Ventilation experience preferred
  • Project management skills are preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support the safe delivery of the pre-feasibility study, critically assessing the technical, economic, and financial aspects of the proposed Fourmile project, to establish basic engineering and viability of the project. Assist in the development of a world class underground asset from pre-feasibility through to operation
  • Produce mine designs, schedules and costing following geotechnical design assumptions & parameters to incorporate the impact of geologic model changes into project forecasts and budgets.
  • Develop & maintain staged ventilation designs from construction through Life of Mine, ensure mine ventilation and escape plans are developed and maintained. Perform regular ventilation flow and pressure survey and execute studies using the results.
  • Update study project forecasts and produce weekly and monthly plans for development activities. Report on plan compliance and short interval control.
  • Keep study project accounting up to date and identify opportunities for business improvements.
