Key statistics: 950+ Consultants 640+ Ph.D.s 90+ Disciplines 30+ Offices globally Our Opportunity We are currently seeking a Senior Metallurgical Engineer for our Metallurgical and Corrosion Engineering Practice in Los Angeles, CA. In this role you will work as part of a team to conduct materials, metallurgical, and mechanical failure investigations, field inspections, and perform materials characterization and specialized testing.

Requirements

Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, and a familiarity with Mechanical Engineering
Minimum of at least 3 years of industry experience
Strong background in materials characterization techniques (e.g. metallography, SEM, EDS, FIB, and/or X-ray radiography/diffraction, etc.) is required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work within project teams with a strong desire to contribute to the team
Knowledge of failure analysis desired
Presently legally authorized to work in the US, no immigration sponsorship or visa processing required

Responsibilities

Conducting hands-on failure analyses
Materials characterization, metallurgical analysis
Planning, coordinating, and executing laboratory testing
Conducting field inspections
Effective presentation of results to technical and non-technical clients and staff
Communicating effectively with other engineers, technicians, managers, clients, and administrative staff
