About The Position

As a Senior Merchant at Floor & Decor, you don’t just manage a category, you own a business. You’ll shape what customers see, what they buy, and how we compete, with full accountability for sales, margin, and market position. This role directly influences growth across 250+ stores. Your Day Consists Of Owning a full product category end-to-end—strategy, assortment, pricing, and performance Identifying trends early and turning them into compelling, market-leading assortments Negotiating directly with global and domestic vendors to secure best cost, terms, and exclusives Partnering with inventory and planning teams to improve turns, in-stock rates, and forecasting accuracy Collaborating with marketing to define promotions, launches, and pricing strategies that drive traffic and conversion Leading and developing a team—building capability, accountability, and future leaders

Requirements

  • 7–10 years of merchandising or buying experience with clear ownership of category performance
  • A track record of driving both sales growth and margin improvement
  • Strong commercial instincts paired with analytical rigor
  • Experience negotiating with vendors in a way that builds long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships
  • The ability to spot trends early and translate them into winning assortments customers buy
  • Leadership capability—you’ve developed talent and know how to build a team that delivers
